The Ultimate Glazed Donut List
We’re talking about raised and glazed! This list is a ranking of all the glazed donuts in these Utah shops (ignoring all other kinds of pastries they serve). Hope you like The Ultimate Glazed Donut List! The first donut I eat in almost every shop is the glazed donut. Why? It’s ALL about the dough. If I like the dough with just glaze then there’s a great chance I’ll like other donuts in the shop. I like how complex a tasting can be with just a glazed donut ‑ texture, fluffiness, sweetness of the dough, flavor of the dough, prominence of oil, type of oil, age of oil, height, weight, girth, balance with glaze… so much to consider with a simple bite!

Lehi Bakery
The classic square glazed! It’s light and fluffy. It has a pleasant glaze that isn’t overpowering. I can eat two without thinking.
Fresh Donut & Deli
Huge fan of these glazed donuts. They use palm oil and have amazing flavor. I rarely eat a hot one though ‑ I prefer to let it breath a few hours before I enjoy this donut. It releases some of the oil and helps keep it from being “doughy.”
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
I thought about keeping this list to only small, local shops… but the KK glazed is too important to ignore. Honestly, it’s a good doughnut. I don’t like any of their other doughnuts but a glazed or sugared is a great treat.
Mirror Lake Service
Very fluffy with a pleasant citrus glaze. I grew up on these donuts and still think they are delicious. I like the huge blueberry fritter more but the glazed satisfies.
Cowboy Donuts of Spanish Fork
Great standard donut. It’s fluffy and has great flavor. A good stop if you’re around Spanish Fork.
Donut Boy
Getting a fresh glazed from Donut Boy is a joy! Fluffy dough and great flavor.
Judy’s Donuts
If you can catch them before they sell out, Judy’s is a wonderful stop in Midway, UT. Big glazed with big flavor.
My Sugar’s Donut Shopp
These are hard to catch as well but a great glazed!
Donut Star ‑ Draper,UT
Things are looking good with the new owner. A great standard glazed… but you’ll probably become distracted with their other fun flavors and donut combos.
Tasty’s
One of the OG spudnuts. I love how soft the dough is with Spudnuts. I need to revisit earlier in the day because I’m always getting a hit and miss freshness.
Johnny O’s Spudnuts
Another spudnut in the state. Johnny O’s has a great glazed!
Banbury Cross Donuts
I love so many donuts at Banbury Cross. The glazed is good but definitely not the donut I gravitate towards. The dough is quality as usual but I’m not a lover of the glaze.
Bowmans
These are the king of grocery store glazed doughnuts!
Darla’s Donuts
I like the specialties at Darla’s most but her glazed is good too!
Avenue Bakery
Of all the doughnuts, I like the glaze most. It’s a bit sweet but a good option in Utah county.
Provo Bakery
Provo Bakery has such a wide range of pastries and is a popular shop. The glazed is good but I get distracted by the glazed and stuffed croissants… or bran muffins.
Jack’s Donuts AF
Jack’s donut holes helped construct my crown of donuts! It’s a sweet treat but I choose the maple bar before I do a plain glazed.
Madbrook Donut Co.
The triangle donuts! This is the donut of convenience because they stock the Maverik stations around the state. These fluffy geometrics fill an immediate sugar need!
Muddy Bees Bakery
I really like Muddy Bee’s but it was apparent the donuts aren’t their specialty. I’ll be back to grab a glazed when I’m also grabbing cinnamon rolls or specialty breads!
BYU Creamery
I liked my glazed from BYU Creamery but it was super sweet. I like to plan on eating 2 donuts at each shop but could only eat the one.
Schmidt’s Pastry Cottage
Schmidt’s is a must‑stop for cakes and other pastries. The donuts are good but lack the X factor. I find the dough too sweet but that may just be me…
Daylight Donuts Pleasant Grove UT
Daylight serves a straightforward donut experience. It’s a good donut when you want that sugar quickly. You won’t have to drive too far since there are quite a few shops around the state.
