I do a People’s Choice Donut bracket each year (see the winner of Utah’s People’s Choice Donut Shop here), but this is the first time I’m publishing MY list of favorite shops. Chubby Baker SLC
@chubbybakerSLC currently has my favorite donut in SLC ‑ the passion fruit specifically. It has a pleasant tartness with the cream cheese filling that balances with the sweet passion fruit drizzle. Must try.
Fresh Donut & Deli
Best traditional donuts in Salt Lake City. My favorites are the glazed, blueberry raised, vanilla vanilla cake with peanuts, and fritters. Oh and the donut holes are heaven. @donutanddeli

BANBURY CROSS DONUTS
Such an iconic shop for SLC. It’s the every day donut that I go for when in Salt Lake. Our favorites are the maple bar, raised cinnamon crumb, chocolate chocolate cake, and vanilla vanilla cake with rainbow sprinkles! @banburycrossdonuts
Mad Dough
These non traditional doughnuts keep it interesting! I’ve loved most the flavor combos and think she has figured out a good base. I’m always checking in to see what’s new to try! @maddoughslc
Donut Boy
Donut Boy serves up a composed dessert of a donut. They always have dynamic toppings and rich flavors. Their fruit varieties (strawberry, banana, blueberry, etc.) are my favorites. @donutboywvc
Thirst Drinks
This isn’t your traditional doughnut shop. It’s a drink shop that has been building their delicious pastry options over years. Their beignets are becoming more and more permanent on the menu… and you’ll find out why. The dough is fluffy and delicious with just the powdered sugar. They also have sweet sauces now available 😍 @thirstdrinks
Donut Star ‑ Draper,UT
Donut Star is under new ownership and it looks like that is a good thing. They continue to be one of a few shops to serve cronuts in Utah. I liked the cronut, maple bar, and donut hole variety (they have a lot). @donutdraper
Vosen’s Bread Paradise
I was really impressed with the croiliners and Berliner’s at Vosens. My favorites in this order: maple, chocolate and Bavarian cream, apple, raspberry. Their filled Berliner’s are packed with flavor ‑ not often you can get an apricot donut.👌 @vosensbreadparadise
Momi Donuts
Momi brings a new dynamic to the Utah donut scene. I find the mochi dough light and the icing flavors refreshing. I like that the shell has a crunch with the interior dough remaining soft and springy. @momidonuts
The Big O Doughnuts
I’m always impressed with these vegan doughnuts. They come up with strong flavors that keep me coming back for more. My favorite is the passion fruit because it’s a little tart to go with the sweet dough. @thebigodoughnuts
Darla’s Donuts
Darla’s has some great options ‑ try her cronut stick and blueberry crumb! I’ve had a root beer float donut there that I can’t get out of my mind. @darlasdonuts
Duck Donuts
Experiencing Duck Donuts is a must. They’re a national chain but it’s hard to beat a made‑to‑order donut! Note: they only serve hot CAKE donuts. So, all you raised donut lovers beware. @duckdonuts
Dunford Bakers
You can’t talk about the Utah donut world without mentioning the chocolate chocolate cake from Dunford Donuts. It’s a gas station mainstay. Besides the chocolate though, I’ve found the maple Pershing and crumb cake donuts to be super delicious. @dunford_bakers
My Sugar’s Donut Shopp
My Sugar’s is hard to catch but you’ll like what you get. The dough is always light and fluffy. You’ll find all your classic flavors there! @my.sugars.donuts
Schmidt’s Pastry Cottage
They aren’t known for their donuts, but their glazed and old fashioned donuts do the job. I find myself picking up a lot of things when I’m there because of the wide variety. @schmidts‑pastry‑cottage
Carol’s Pastry Shop
A shop more known for its other pastries than donuts. It’s worth a try when you’re in the shop for an eclair or other sweet treat. @carols_pastry_shop
