This past year we moved from our Millcreek (Salt Lake City) home and ventured south to Lehi, UT. Besides moving away from friends and further away from family, we also moved away from one of our favorite donut shops. We no longer have Fresh Donut & Deli (2700 s. State St. SLC, UT) close enough for easy Saturday morning runs and it bums me out more than I would have thought. The owners are really sweet and are there every day. And the donuts are amazing! Do you have a shop like that?
If you happen to make it to Fresh Donut & Deli, make sure to get the plain glazed (soft, flavorful dough), maple bar, blueberry raised, coconut crumb, vanilla cake vanilla icing and peanuts, vanilla cake and vanilla icing, donut holes…. Well, you might as well get one of everything! Some say their fritters are the best but I prefer others. One caveat for this donut shop though, it is the greasier and traditional type. Some don’t like that – so, just be aware of that. Tell me if you visit and how you like them!
