Donut Book #3 Launching October 11th 2022

New donut book launching soon

The time is finally here! Book number three in the Darla’s Donut Village series is soon to be released in October. I think you’re really going to like this chocolatey story called “Sweetest Dreams” releasing on October 11, 2022.  I’ll post an update here and on our Instagram page @thedonutbook as the launch gets closer.

Previous two donut books

My other two books were about self confidence (It’s the Dough Inside that Matters) and kindness (Sprinkled with Kindness). These topics have appealed to readers of many ages and have been used in classrooms as well as read at home.

What could be a good follow up to these tasty adventures of Darla, Glaze, and the other donut friends? How about sleep? That’s important!

Topic of donut book three

I’m usually reading to my kids at night. Many of my stories get them excited about eating donuts and not ready for bed. So, I wanted this story to highlight the importance of sleep to improve one’s mental health. Night time books have been traditionally all about a calm reading experience to tire your child. Sweetest Dreams definitely has this effect, but we also address some things that happen when we don’t get the appropriate amount of sleep. A well rested body and mind is definitely a key to good health. My hope is that Sweetest Dreams is enjoyed nightly.

Synopsis

Darla had a really busy day delivering sweet experiences to all of her customers. She dozes off before she cleans up the shop for the day. Glaze and the day-old donuts left at the end of the night decide to use their carbs to clean up for Darla. They reminisce about all the chocolate that gets everywhere when Choco doesn’t get enough sleep. Avoiding sleep also keeps Choco from having the sweetest dreams. Darla wakes and is so excited to see all the cleaning help she received. She heads home and vows to give the donuts an extra sprinkle of sugar the next day. Glaze and Choco walk through the shop putting everyone to bed. They fall asleep as sweetest dreams start.

Thank you’s

Similar to the other two books, this book was illustrated by my mother, Kathleen Lee. This has been an amazing opportunity to connect my mother other than about family matters. We hope you enjoy the book and use our positive messages to spread more love and positivity!

Sincerely,
